At Slides-R-Us.com, our mission is to provide affordable, quality, 35mm slide transfers to digital format to make your slides accessable for today, and archivable for tomorrow. Our basic services are a "What you see is what you get" in that we don't perform any special restoration and for the lowest possible transfer price, we ask that the slides be provided pre-loaded and correctly oriented in a kodak carousel slide tray (it's ok if you don't have a tray, we can load the slides ourselves for a slight increase in transfer price).

So, just what do you get with our transfer services? First, keep in mind that we provide a transfer service, not a slide scanning service. As a result, our basic services do not provide any restoration, dust removal, scratch reduction, etc. What you get is pretty much exactly what you would see if you put your slide in a projector and projected it on a screen. We transfer your slides at a resolution of 3456 x 2304 pixels - that's 8 million pixels, and is a resolution suitable for printing an 8x10 photograph at better than 300dpi. If the slide is in the carousel upside down, backwards, whatever, that's exactly how it will be transfered. The light source used is a cool tungsten balanced fluorescent which offers even illumination, zero hotspots and no danger of slide damage due to heat. If you want to "touch-up" your slides up after we transfer them, we recommend Adobe Photoshop Elements for Windows as a good entry level program for doing this type of work. Alternatively, our partner, DVD Reflections can provide various restoration services for reasonable pricing.

Once your slides are transfered, they are available on our web site so that you can do some basic image manipulation (rotating them back into the correct orientation for viewing, flipping or cropping) and then package them for download to your computer. If you would prefer to have the slides delivered to you on a data DVD, we can provide that service as well. If you need some of the slides in a slideshow that you can show on TV, we can also help out - all you have to do is select the slides for the slideshow via our web site, put them in the order you want, and we'll take care of the rest..
